Eastern Congo:I wasn't going to post this photo since it is not a fav. Today it occurred to me how many mothers and children I have photographed who have buried their fathers and brothers. So I am sharing this one to begin to diffuse their pain and (mine too).

This is so sad. It makes me feel so helpless.
i think these photos capture the emotion wonderfully. Not all photos are full of joy, like weddings. But these two are great.
