Couples getting married today want to do something different, many want to "give" or have a green wedding as a way to look outward from themselves. Donation weddings are the newest thing. The couple ask guests to donate to a cause rather than filling their already overstuffed cupboards with appliances.
There are groups like animal shelters, reading for children and more. There's no better way to begin a life together than giving.

I love that idea. I think it's such a turnoff, almost tacky, when couples register at some expensive place, throw their wishlist in your face and give you attitude if you have the nerve to buy something of your own choice, rather from the registry.
I hope to see this trend spread like fire! :)
There's so many couples who already have all their household goods and end up getting duplicate items that end up in goodwill. Why not put the money someplace it can really help.
Couples who tend to stay married are outward focused-together.
