Congratulations to Marquette and Happy!!!

Marquette and Happy sent me this picture of themselves after they won.
Marquette and Happy are the winners of the Free Day of Wedding Photography! There were 2 very close runners up but in the end the photography judges chose Marquette and Happy based on need and ALL the POSITIVE Energy and Giving Back that they do. They are having a park wedding and an evening reception. I'll post pics of their wedding here.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

Myself with the help of two other photographers -
Scott A. Nelson Photographer of Newport Beach have narrowed the contest for a free day of wedding photography down to 3 people. The response has been gigantic.
So many great stories from so many wonderful brides and grooms. It has been really hard to choose. The top 3 brides have been notified and we'll make the final decision as soon as possible.

How Many Mothers Weep?

Eastern Congo:I wasn't going to post this photo since it is not a fav. Today it occurred to me how many mothers and children I have photographed who have buried their fathers and brothers. So I am sharing this one to begin to diffuse their pain and (mine too).

My Volcanoe (Really)

This volcano in the background is actually called "My Volcano". It's so cool as anyone that speaks its name is calling it "My Volcano". So if you ask Belice, "where are you going this morning, she might answer to "my volcano". Believe me the first couple of times I heard this is confused me. I am rather naĆeve sometimes for someone who has been around so much.
As hard as life is in the Eastern Congo, there are some beautiful attributes in everyday life. Happy New Year!
